Ballaugh 1777

This is affirmed by the subscribing witnesses to be the last will and testament of Isabel Cain, widow, of said parish who departed this life on or about the 1st May said year being of perfect mind and memory at the making hereof in manner and form following:

First she committed her soul to God and her body to Christian burial

Item she bequeathed and left to her daughter Isabel all her clothes and shoes

Item she left to her son John an oak chest and the big wheel

Item to Isabel, daughter of said John Mylrea she left her little wheel

Item she left sixpence to each claimer and sixpence each to the two witnesses of her last will and testament

And lastly she nominated, constituted and appointed her son William Caine sole and whole executor of all the rest of her goods moveable and immoveable whatsoever

At a Chapter Court holden at KK Michael June 3rd 1777 the executor is sworn in Court in form of law and has given pledges for the payment of debts, legacies, namely Philip Stephen, Gilbert Tear, both of Ballaugh
